Inp.polri.go.id - Brasilia. President Prabowo Subianto has urged Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to lead the conclusion of the Indonesia–MERCOSUR Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IM-CEPA).
“I welcome your leadership in MERCOSUR and hope we can finalize the CEPA agreement under your guidance,” said President Prabowo during a joint press conference with Lula at Brazil’s Palácio do Planalto on Wednesday (9/7/2025)..
Brazil is Indonesia’s largest trading partner in Latin America. Prabowo also welcomed Lula’s plan to bring 700 Brazilian entrepreneurs to Jakarta, signaling deeper economic cooperation.
He emphasized cooperation via Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Danantara, renewable energy, and agriculture modernization. President Prabowo praised Brazil’s school lunch program and pledged to replicate its success in Indonesia through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) initiative.
Both presidents also reaffirmed support for Palestinian statehood and called for United Nations reform to empower emerging global players.
