Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday/2026)signed into law the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Indonesia, according to the Russian Embassy in Jakarta.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the deal will boost Indonesian exports.

“Indonesia views Russia as the most strategic partner in Eurasia. This agreement strengthens cooperation and advances priority agendas,” he said after meeting Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, as reported by antaranews.com

The agreement, signed on 21 December 2025, covers all EAEU members, consisting of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, and establishes preferential trade terms for most products. Key Indonesian exports include palm oil, coffee, cocoa, fisheries, textiles, footwear, and furniture.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted the pact applies to more than 98 percent of bilateral trade, signaling a significant expansion of economic ties between Indonesia and the EAEU.
