Preventing the FMD Outbreak, NTB Police Strictly Guarded the Port

Regarding the handling of the entry and exit of animals at the port, there has been an agreement from all relevant parties such as the Regional Police Chief, Regional Miltary Commander, Resort Police Chiefs, Quarantine Center, and other relevant port authorities. "Even passing vehicles and people must be sprayed with disinfectant so they don't carry the virus," added the authorities. Meanwhile, the Head of the NTB Police (Kapolda NTB), Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto emphasized that in handling FMD in NTB, apart from taking preventive and security measures, he was also keep vigilant regarding the carriers. Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto explained that his party had coordinated with Regional Military Command 162 Wira Bhakti, Agriculture Service, Mataram Class 1 Quarantine, PP. ASDP Sheet Branch, and the Port Health Office (KKP) of Lobar. This coordination aims to ensure that the FMD situation in NTB is under control, especially ahead of Eid al-Adha. "More specifically in Lombok, as directed by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment, in addition to carrying out the handling efforts that we have done, we also prevent the carriers of this disease," said the Kapolda. In handling the FMD, the government has carried out vaccinations and treatment for the sick livestock. "As for the prevention of FMD carriers. We have coordinated with the relevant parties and we have agreed to work together in handling it. So that the FMD situation in NTB, especially ahead of Eid al-Adha, can be under control," he said.
