Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) is waiting for its chairman Erick Thohir to return from a family event before holding an Executive Committee meeting to decide the fate of national team coach Patrick Kluivert, PSSI Deputy Chairman Zainuddin Amali said on Monday (13/10/2025).
“We’re waiting for the chairman; he’s attending his daughter’s wedding on 18 and 19 October 2025,” he told reporters after the Indonesia U-23’s friendly match against India ended 1–1, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The meeting will discuss Coach Kluivert’s future following Indonesia’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after losses to Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Team manager and National Team Committee head Sumardji has submitted a full report on the campaign. Amali stressed that any decision would be made collectively by PSSI’s Exco, not unilaterally.
Kluivert, who returned to the Netherlands after the defeats, apologized publicly, saying he took full responsibility and shared fans’ disappointment over the team’s early exit.
