inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) officially ended their partnership with Shin Tae-yong as the manager of the Indonesian National Football Team.

The Chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, says that he can’t yet reveal the name of the new Indonesian National Football Team manager. However, he gave a clue that the new manager is from the Netherlands.

“Several names that are well-known in the world of football are not only doing it for fortunes, they also do it for their legacy, to be part of the history in delivering Indonesia to participate in the 2026 World Cup,” says Erick Thohir on Monday (1/6/2024).

In his statement, he met the new coach the last time he visited Europe last December. He says that he found three new manager candidates which later on narrowed to only just one name.

He also said that his party ended the cooperation with Shin Tae-yong on good terms. The South Korean coach, according to him, also accepted this decision with an open heart.

"We are still doing fine, I respect Shin Tae-yong, and he also said earlier that he accepted it well," he explained.

Furthermore, he said the new coach will come to Indonesia on Saturday (1/11) night. Later, the new coach will be introduced to the public at a press conference the following day on Sunday (1/12).
