Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian badminton player Putri Kusuma Wardani emerged as the 2024 Korea Masters champion after defeating China’s Han Qian with a convincing score of 21-14, 21-14.
The victory came at Iksan Gymnasium on Sunday (10/11/2024), where Putri led from the start of the first game and maintained her dominance, according to antaranews.com.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's mixed doubles pair Dejan Ferdinansyah and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja finished as runners-up, falling to China’s Guo Xin Wa and Chen Fang Hui with scores of 10-21, 12-21.
Putri, who previously lost to Han, capitalized on her knowledge of her opponent’s playing style to secure the win.
“She’s a strong player, but I was able to read her habits and strengths,” Putri shared after the match, adding that her strategy to play more freely contributed to her success in the final.
Dejan/Gloria struggled to keep pace with Guo/Chen, managing to tie at 5-5 early in the first game but ultimately losing momentum, ending the second game at 12-21.
