Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Pademangan Police Office in North Jakarta has turned vacant land on West Ancol Street into productive plots by planting various crops to bolster local food security.
Pademangan Police Chief Senior Inspector Binsar Hatorangan Sianturi said on Sunday (10/11/2024) that officers planted corn, red onions, basil, and chili on the site.
Alongside planting crops, officers also provided ducklings and feed to local residents and the Walang Village Garden on Lodan Raya Street, expanding food security efforts with additional onion planting in West Pademangan, according to antaranews.com.
The initiative supported President Prabowo Subianto’s national food security program, aimed at increasing local food production.
Chief Sianturi highlighted the collaborative nature of the effort, involving both police officers and community members to build sustainable food sources.
“With police involvement in initiatives like this, we hope to inspire the community to further develop their agricultural potential,” he added, emphasizing the importance of local food resilience.
