inp.polri.go.id - Batam. Vice Governor of Riau Islands Nyanyang Haris Pratamura said that cooperation between law enforcement officers and other related agencies is an important key in preventing and eradicating illegal drug trafficking in the region.

Nyanyang appreciated the success of the F1QR Team of the Tanjung Balai Karimun Navy Base (Lanal) which thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1.9 tons of crystal methamphetamine and cocaine in the Durian Strait, Karimun Waters, Riau Islands.

"This success (in disclosing the case) is real evidence of the synergy between the military, police, National Narcotics Agency (BNN), and Customs in eradicating drugs in the Indonesian territory in Riau Island, especially Karimun," said Nyanyang in a press conference on the disclosure of the 1.9 ton narcotics smuggling case, Friday (5/16/2025).

According to the Vice Governor, the success of law enforcement officers in thwarting the smuggling of 1.9 tons of crystal methamphetamine and cocaine has had a major impact on efforts to save millions of young people from the threat of drug dangers.

He emphasized the commitment of the Riau Islands Provincial Government to continue to support and strengthen collaboration between institutions in eradicating drugs in the country nicknamed Segantang Ladang.

"We also invite the community to jointly protect their environment from the bad influence of drugs through education and active participation," he said.
