Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesia Hospital in northern Gaza has suffered extensive structural damage following a siege and bombardment by Israeli forces, humanitarian group MER-C said in a statement on Sunday (18/5/2025).
“The hospital is in a dire state. Shattered windows, collapsed ceilings, and debris have disrupted key medical services including intensive care, emergency units, and operating rooms,” MER-C said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The group reported that powerful blasts near the facility caused tremors felt like earthquakes by local residents. Medical equipment was also damaged by falling debris. The nearby Wisma Joserizal building was similarly affected.
Israeli forces reportedly deployed drones over the hospital, with ground troops stationed about 500 meters from both the north and south, blocking all activity in the area. Despite the blockade and dwindling food supplies, 20 staff and volunteers remain, continuing efforts to clean and maintain operations.
MER-C condemned the attacks as grave violations of international humanitarian law and called for an immediate end to military operations in Gaza and the blockade affecting medical aid.
