inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Chief of Riau Island Regional Police, Inspector General Asep Safrudin led the ceremony of National Awareness Day as a momentum for police personnel to reflect on their duties.

“The National Awareness Day has a deeper meaning for us a State Civil Apparatus as it is our commitment of maintaining discipline, loyalty, and professionalism,” says Asep on Monday (3/17/2025).

Asep also noted the importance of patience and social awareness aspect for the police in carrying out their duties. He also reminds them that the Ketupat Seligi Operation is upon them as Eid approaches.

"This operation is not just an annual routine, but a reminder for us on the responsibility of ensuring that people can celebrate the day of Eid safely and comfortably. Thus, personnel must be alert to the surge in homecoming traffic, potential accidents, and increased criminal activity," said Asep

According to Asep, the problem of drug abuse within the police must also be the focus of the institution. He also ensured that he would not tolerate the involvement of members in drug trafficking.

Furthermore, Asep reminded all personnel to maintain their health and stamina during Ramadan as the task at hand is not easy.
