Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs outlined its 2026 work plan before the House of Representatives (DPR), emphasizing stronger diplomacy, international cooperation, economic engagement, and citizen protection abroad.

“Our focus is safeguarding sovereignty, from territorial integrity and food security to energy and strategic resources,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Arif Havas Oegroseno during a hearing with the DPR’s Commission I on Tuesday (8/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The plan includes enhancing Indonesia’s leadership in multilateral forums, defending smallholder farming interests, and forming new international alliances like a critical minerals producers' forum.

The Ministry also supports the campaign to elect Prof. Eddy Pratomo to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), aiming to raise Indonesia’s global profile.

Economic diplomacy efforts include trade forums, investment promotion in Africa and Latin America, and participation in international expos.

For citizen protection, the Ministry will boost digital public services, improve Indonesian citizens and migrant worker assistance, and strengthen consular standards and global negotiation efforts.
