Rizki Juniansyah Wins SEA Games Gold, Breaks Two World Records

Inp.polri.go.id - Bangkok. Indonesian weightlifter Rizki Juniansyah won the gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games in Chonburi, Thailand, after breaking two world records in the men’s competition on Mondaym(15/12/2025). 

He set new world marks in the clean and jerk and in the total lift, confirming Indonesia’s dominance in weightlifting.

“I am proud, but my real target is the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. The SEA Games are a stepping stone for bigger goals,” Rizki said after the competition, as quoted by antaranews.com

Competing at Chonburi Sports School, he opened strongly with a 160-kilogram snatch. He then lifted 205 kilograms in the clean and jerk, surpassing the previous world record. His combined total of 365 kilograms also established a new world record.

Rizki finished ahead of Malaysia’s Muhammad Erry Hidayat and Thailand’s Natthawut Suepsuan, securing Indonesia’s gold medal in the event.
