Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) said that the bomb threat targeting Saudia Airlines in mid-June was not technically difficult to detect due to its communication method.
"It didn’t go through IP-based channels. It was just a phone call. That kind of threat is relatively easy to trace," said BSSN Head Lieutenant General (ret.) Nugroho Sulistyo Budi on Monday (30/6/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
He emphasized that while such threats are often false alarms, BSSN maintains a zero-tolerance approach and treats all threats with full seriousness, especially given the potential to disrupt transportation and national security.
Chief Nugroho noted that the investigation is under police jurisdiction, but BSSN stands ready to assist in cross-agency cooperation.
Previously, two Saudia Airlines flights carrying Indonesian hajj pilgrims were forced to make emergency landings in Medan due to bomb threats delivered via email and other non-IP-based methods.
