inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police have uncovered the motive behind MY (34) sending the bomb threat message at Srengseng Sawah 15 Elementary School in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. 

Based on the results of the investigation, MY admitted to sending the bomb threat message to teachers and school staff as a joke.

"One person did it, but based on the results of the questioning, he said it was just a joke," said the Director of Criminal Investigation at the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Iman Imannudin, Monday (6/13/2026).

Iman stated that a joint team from the Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terror Squad and the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) are still investigating the background of MY, who lives near the school.

"We are continuing to investigate, and investigators are coordinating with Densus 88 Anti-Terror," he said.

The joint team conducted a search approximately four hours after the school reported the bomb threat message. However, no suspicious objects were found at the scene.
