Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Senen Police Office distributed 1,200 protective face masks to community members across high-density public areas in Central Jakarta on Sunday night (6/9/2026), to mitigate respiratory risks from Mount Anak Krakatau's volcanic ashfall.
Led by Senen Police Chief Senior Inspector Martua Malau, 10 police officers deployed at 8.30 pm to distribute masks across the Senen Bus Terminal, Senen Vegetable Market, Pasar Senen Railway Station, and the Simpang Lima Kapau Culinary Center.
"We advise the public to remain calm yet vigilant regarding volcanic ash exposure," he said. "Wearing masks during outdoor activities is essential for maintaining health."
Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police Chief Senior Superintendent Reynold EP Hutagalung noted that the distribution aligns with institutional mandates to protect public health and maintain order during environmental disruptions.
