Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Social Affairs  Saifullah Yusuf revealed on Wednesday (25/3/2026_ that the ministry is investigating 2,708 employees who failed to report for duty without explanation on the first working day following the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

"There are 2,708 employees unaccounted for, no permit, no attendance. This is a significant number, and I have instructed the Secretary General to probe the root causes," he said during a press conference, as cited by antaranews.com

The missing personnel represent a portion of the ministry's 46,090-strong workforce, with the majority operating under flexible or remote work schemes. Under Government Regulation No. 94/2021, these unauthorized absences are classified as disciplinary violations.

Offending civil servants face sanctions ranging from written warnings to a 3% daily deduction of their performance allowances. To address the mass absenteeism, the Minister has summoned all involved staff to a mandatory coaching assembly on Thursday to reinforce professional integrity and civil service standards.
