Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Angkasa Pura II, the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport management, has been preparing a VVIP room for Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia, as security will be handled directly by the state.
"We have set up a VVIP room for Pope Francis at Soekarno Hatta. Other preparations are standard," said M Holik Muardi, the Senior Manager of Branch Communication & Legal at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, on Tuesday (27/8/2024).
Muardi noted that the preparation involves standard procedures and personnel, as the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) will oversee the visit.
Deputy Chief of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police, Superintendent Ronald FC Sipayung, said that a meeting is underway with the Airport Authority regarding security arrangements.
Since the Pope’s visit coincides with the International Sustainability Forum (ISF), the security will be integrated into Operation Tri Bata Jaya.
Heru Budi Hartono,the Head of the Presidential Secretariat, said that the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) will assure comprehensive security from 3 to 6 September 2024, including potential road closures in Jakarta during the Mass at Gelora Bung Karno on 5 September 2024.
