Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. South Jakarta’s Immigration Office has revealed that 21 Chinese citizens were found working illegally in several engineering companies located in West Cilandak, South Jakarta.
"Most of them work as engineers, what we locally call manual laborers,” said Bugie Kurniawan, the Head of the South Jakarta Immigration Office, during a press conference on the “Operasi Wira Waspada” enforcement operation held Friday (18/7/2025).
The foreign workers were identified as employees of companies operating under various names, including PT. B, PT. C, PT. In T, PT. F, and PT. V. Immigration officials confirmed that they were not recruited through false promises, but were directly employed in China before being transferred to Indonesia.
Evidence seized includes passports, employee ID cards, protective jackets, and helmets. Authorities are now verifying work and stay permits.
Some were found with mismatched or invalid documents, violating several articles of Indonesia’s Immigration Law No. 6/2011.
