Inp.polri.go.id - Tanah Laut. South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan held a dialogue with corn farmers in Banyu Irang Village, Bati-Bati District, on Monday (29/6/2026) to strengthen national food security programs. Seventeen farmer representatives attended the meeting.

“All input and complaints from farmers are valuable for improving food security management,” he said, instructing Tanah Laut Police Chief Superintendent Ricky Boy Siallagan to follow up on reported issues.

Farmers highlighted limited access to diesel fuel for agricultural machinery. 

Chief Rosyanto directed police to collect data on affected groups to find solutions, stressing the need to secure seeds, fertilizer, machinery, and fuel. Farmer Balot noted police support has boosted morale, though fuel remains difficult to obtain.

Authorities also introduced a price stabilization mechanism to protect farmers from middlemen. Tanah Laut currently has 2,052 hectares of corn fields, producing about 100,000 tons in 2025. The program aims to sustain productivity and strengthen food resilience through cooperation between police, government, and farmers.
