Inp.polri.go.id - Palembang. In a recent assembly at the South Sumatra Police Headquarters, Inspector General Albertus Rachmad Wibowo underscored vital measures to uphold public security on Monday (26/2/2024).
"We're emphasizing proactive steps for our personnel to uphold Safety and Public Order (Kamtibmas) across South Sumatra," he said.
The Chief of the South Sumatra Police reminded officers of the need for regular patrols, prompted by recent theft incidents at the official residence of Deputy Chairman of the Palembang Legislative Council.
Additionally, he urged the Chief of South Ogan Komering Ulu Police to adhere to instructions from the local General Election Commission (KPUD) regarding vote recounts and to address any dissatisfaction from candidates due to lost votes.
"As Ramadan nears and food prices surge, our Criminal Investigation Director is tasked with verifying information on rising food prices," Chief Wibowo added.
Regarding the ongoing forest fire challenges, Chief Wibowo highlighted the need for immediate preparations to combat potential blazes, considering the heat patterns shifting across Riau, Jambi, and South Sumatra.
"We must proactively prevent crises akin to those of 1998, such as food scarcity and political unrest, from recurring in 2024," he said.
