Inp.polri.go.id - Muara Enim. The South Sumatra Regional Police deployed Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers to extinguish peatland fires in Gelumbang, Muara Enim Regency, using specialized X-Fire chemical solution on Thursday (10/9/2026). 

Entering the fourth day of Operation Aman Nusa II, officers sprayed and soaked affected areas to eliminate hidden embers trapped beneath the peat layer that risk reigniting surface blazes.

"This fourth day is crucial because we are cooling down deep peat layers, not just surface fires," said South Sumatra Brimob Commander Senior Superintendent James Parlindungan Hutagaol. "Using X-Fire solution is expected to break the cycle of hotspot emergence."

Police officers conducted site sweeps, tracked hotspot coordinates, and executed cooling operations to prevent secondary fires. 

South Sumatra Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent. Nandang Mu'min Wijaya said that sustained peatland suppression requires thorough soaking and urged the public to avoid land-burning practices.
