inp.polri.go.id - Makassar. Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that strategic and sustainable policies are key to developing the agricultural sector.
This was conveyed by Amran in a Public Lecture entitled "Sustainable Agricultural Policy" at the Faculty of Agriculture Hall, Hasanuddin University Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, on Friday (2/27/2027).
In his presentation, Minister Amran emphasized that policy is not merely an administrative regulation, but a key instrument capable of transforming the face of Indonesian agriculture in a short time.
Therefore, agricultural policy plays a strategic role in determining the future of the sector nationally.
"Policy is very strategic wherever it is located. Good policies can increase productivity, especially through appropriate regulations. Conversely, incorrect policies can burden hundreds of millions of Indonesians," he emphasized.
He explained that appropriate policies not only increase production but also directly contribute to farmer welfare.
According to him, the transformation of national agriculture has been inseparable from a collection of policies that are systematically designed, measurable, and efficiency-oriented.
"What has changed the face of Indonesian agriculture in a short time is a collection of policies. These policies can save resources, increase productivity, and improve the welfare of our farmers," he added.
This public lecture provides a space for reflection and strategic education for Hasanuddin University agriculture students, enabling them to understand not only the technical aspects of agriculture but also to see policies as the primary foundation for sustainable agricultural development in the future.
