Inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya. Surabaya City Sub-regional Police confiscated 40.8 kg of methamphetamine and 26,019 ecstasy pills on Monday (29/4/2024). 

Surabaya Police Chief Senior Superintendent Rasma Royce said that the operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects, SD and YM, in Tangerang, Banten, and Sidoarjo, East Java, respectively. 

SD's arrest, based on public information, led to YM's arrest, with 16 packs of methamphetamine seized. Further investigations uncovered additional drugs in Majalengka. 

The suspects utilized tactics such as hotel switching and exploiting holiday travel to evade authorities. 

Among the seized items were methamphetamine disguised as Chinese tea, ecstasy pills, personal belongings, and cash. 

The suspects face charges under the Narcotics Law, carrying penalties ranging from 6 years' imprisonment to life or death. 

The operation aimed to disrupt drug distribution networks and ensure public safety.
