Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The armed criminal group (KKB) launched an assault on the Homeyo Police Station in Pogapa Village, Homeyo District, Intan Jaya Regency, at 07.40am on Tuesday morning (30/4/2024), killing a civilian.

According to Superintendent Dr. Bayu Suseno, the Damai Cartenz Operation-2024 spokesperson, the victim, identified as 20-year-old Alexsander Parapak from Toraja, succumbed to gunshot wounds, striking his left chest, piercing through his back, and lower left armpit.

He identified the alleged perpetrators as members of the Keni Tipagau group from Kodap VIII Kemabu.

The incident unfolded with a volley of gunfire directed at the residences of Assistant Second Brigadier Tri Setyo and Assistant Second Brigadier Bartholomeus at the Homeyo Police Station. 

Responding officers exchanged fire with the assailants, prompting the KKB members to flee towards the SD Inpres Pogapa building, Chief Bayu said.

Authorities pledge to bolster security measures to safeguard the community in the wake of this tragic event.
