Inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari. Manokwari Sub-regional Police have arrested one of five suspects in the shooting of Yan Christian Warinussy, the Director of the Institute for Research, Study, and Development of Legal Aid (LP3BH) Manokwari in West Papua.
Manokwari Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Rivadin Benny Simangusong, confirmed on Tuesday (4/3/3025) that the suspect, identified as JT, was arrested early Tuesday morning. The four other suspects, including the alleged mastermind OU, remain at large.
“Suspect JT was picked up in a car where the firearm used in the attack was already prepared,” Chief Simangusong said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Investigators believe the shooting was motivated by revenge, as Warinussy had served as legal counsel in a high-profile murder case. The suspects reportedly trailed him from the courthouse to a bank before opening fire.
Suspect JT faces charges under Article 338 of the Criminal Code and the Emergency Law on Firearms Possession, carrying a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
