Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Criminal Investigation Agency has officially upgraded the sea fences case in Tangerang, Banten, from a preliminary inquiry to a full investigation.
Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, the INP Criminal Investigation Agency’s Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim, announced the decision on Tuesday (4/2/2025).
“Our findings indicate suspected forgery of documents and/or falsification of authentic deeds, and we are now moving forward with a full investigation,” he said, as reported by antaranews.com.
Investigators have questioned five witnesses, including officials from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and the Tangerang Regional Development Planning Agency. Forensic analysis will be conducted on 10 out of 263 land certificates issued by the Tangerang Land Office.
The INP suspects that falsified land deeds were used to obtain property rights over the disputed sea fences area.
