inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Police appealed to the public not to hesitate to report illegal online loan (pinjol) activities that often disturb the public as one of the eradication efforts. "For people who know about illegal online loans or victims of illegal lending, including those who receive threats from online loan service providers, don't hesitate to report," said the Head of the General Information Division of the National Police's Public Relations Bureau, Pol. Grand Commissioner. Ahmad Ramadhan, Monday (10/08/21). In addition to reporting, the Head of the General Information Division Bureau of the National Police's Public Relations Division also appealed to the public to increase their understanding in conducting loan transactions. This includes checking whether this online loan provider is officially registered with the financial services authority (OJK) or not. So that later, people will no longer be victims of illegal loans. "There are around 160 legal loans recorded at Online Loan. So when the loan service provider is not registered, ignore it," he explained. He also asked the public not to be easily carried away in online loan transactions, such as offering low-interest rates or requesting contact access permits. "Because this is where (receiving a contact access permit) comes the legal access, which loan sharks finally use to collect, bully, and slander to get customers to pay off the loan debt," he explained.
