inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Kramatjati Bhayangkara Polri Hospital says seven bodies found in Bekasi River cannot be identified yet.

“Not yet. As of now we are intensifying the appeal to the families who lost their family members to immediately report to police as we still need new data,” says the Head of Medical and Service of Kramatjati Bhayangkara Polri Hospital, Senior Superintendent Hery Wijatmoko in press conference on Monday (9/23/2024).

According to him, there are few factors why the seven bodies have not been identified yet, one of which is the condition of the body that has become unrecognizable. On the other hand, there are only five antemortem data used for comparison by the medical team.

“Visual identification towards the bodies that have been drowning for 1-2 days is near impossible. Thus, we are now using primary data such as teeth, fingerprints, DNA, and properties and characteristics of the body," he explained.

Moreover, the five data acquired from families are solid although there are things that need to be validated first. Aside from that, Hery did not deny the possibilities that there are minors who did not have ID cards yet among the seven victims.
