Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto hosted Embraer Commercial Aviation CEO Arjan Meijer at the Merdeka Palace on Monday (2/2/2026) to discuss strategic advancements in global aviation technology.
The high-level meeting, which included the heads of Garuda Indonesia and PT Pindad, focused on integrating cutting-edge aerospace innovations into Indonesia’s national defense and commercial sectors.
As the world’s third-largest aircraft manufacturer, Brazilian-based Embraer already maintains a footprint in Indonesia through the Air Force’s fleet of EMB-314 Super Tucano tactical fighters.
"The President wants us to be involved in global technological developments; that is what he conveyed regarding the future of our aviation industry," said Garuda Indonesia President Director Glenny H. Kairupan following the discussion, as cited by antaranews.com.
While the talks emphasized the adoption of "super-advanced" technologies and fleet modernization, Glenny clarified that no formal purchase agreements were signed during the session.
