inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin orders for the use of contraceptives for teenagers and students to be studied further from the religious perspective. He believes that this perspective is important aside from the medical perspective.
“We should not see this only from the medical perspective, but also from the religious aspect. Because, if there are differences in opinion, arguments, it would be counterproductive,” says the Vice President after visiting an art exhibition at Kasongan Timbul Raharjo Museum in Bantul on Wednesday (8/7/2024).
VP Ma’ruf Amin admits that the bill has sparked debates among the communities, thus he hoped for suggestions and recommendations from all elements of the society.
Deeper research from all aspects, says Ma’ruf Amin, are necessary to eliminate many challenges during its implementation in the future.
“It is controversial now and I asked for the authorities to listen, to consult with religious institutions," he said.
