Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. As the moon edges closer to Earth this November, Jakarta’s northern coastline braces for another natural test.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued a tidal flood (rob) warning for several coastal districts from 3 to 12 November  2025, driven by a rare alignment of the Perigee phase and a full moon on 5 November 2025, antaranews.com reported on Saturday (1/11/2025).

At the old port of Sunda Kelapa, workers rush to raise sea walls, a familiar scene in a city that lives at the edge of water. BMKG’s data shows sea levels could peak unusually high during the period, threatening neighborhoods like Kamal Muara, Pluit, Marunda, and Tanjung Priok.

While the tides are a natural phenomenon, their impact is deeply human.

“Residents, port workers, and coastal fish farmers must stay alert and monitor maritime updates,” BMKG advised through its official Instagram account.

The agency warned that even moderate flooding could disrupt port operations, affect coastal settlements, and damage fishponds.
