TNI Spokesperson Brigadier General Kristomei Sianturi said on Wednesday (30/4/2025) that the reshuffles are part of organizational development.
The rotation included Lieutenant General. Kunto Arief Wibowo, the Commander of the Joint Defense Area I, to Special Staff to the Army Chief of Staff. General Kunto is the son of former Vice President Try Sutrisno.
Rear Admiral Hersan, a former aide to President Joko Widodo, replaces him as the new Joint Defense Area I Commander, after serving as Commander of Fleet Command III. Fleet Command III is now led by Rear Adiral. H. Krisno Utomo, while Rear Adiral. Rudhi Aviantara I.H. now heads Military Sealift Command (Kolinlamil).
Out of 237 officers, 109 are from the Army, 64 from the Navy, and 64 from the Air Force.
New regional intelligence heads include Colonel. Priyanto Eko Widodo (East Kalimantan) and Colonel Jonny Marpaung (North Sulawesi).
