Around 200 people from various villages of Puncak regency seek help to Indonesian Military Force (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) following the attack of Armed Criminal Group. The plead of Jenggernok, Wako, Ninggabuma, Agiyome, Upaga, Gome, Jonggong Golawi, Kilanungin, Misimaga, and Tigibalok villagers were immediately responded by members of Puncak Sub-regional Police and Border Security Task Force Mobile Yonif R 300/BJW. This was confirmed Papua Regional Police PR Chief, Grand Commissioner Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo following the field report. According to him, considering the geographical conditions and the distance of the Sub-regional Police HQ, villagers were directed to evacuate to Bethel Jenggernok Church and Honai-Honai Church around Gome District accompanied by Great Tribal Chief Puncak Regency, Pius Abelom Kogoya. “This is due to the recent disturbances caused by the Armed Criminal Group, which led us to secure the villagers from the threat,” said Benny. However, the suspense did not last long as several hours later villagers returned to the villages as TNI-INP had guaranteed safe situation in Puncak Regency. “Security apparatus also provided food supplies to the villagers as they went home. As for now, situations in Puncak Regency is gradually returned to normal as security officials provided maximum security in all regions,” add Benny. He reveals that this is the highlight of strong cooperation and quick response of TNI-INP as the tribal chief also provided strong support to stabilize the situation and ensure public is safe from dangers.
