Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Bali Regional Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya said traffic accident victims in the province are overwhelmingly dominated by people of productive age, citing persistent driver negligence as a key factor.
The statement was delivered during the launch of Operation Zebra Agung 2025 in Denpasar on Monday (17/11/2025).
“Most traffic accident victims are in the productive age group of 17 to 40 years, caused by violations and carelessness of road users,” Chief Daniel told reporters after the force’s roll-call event, as reported by antaranews.com
Traffic violations this year have been dominated by visible offences, including failure to wear helmets, driving against traffic, using mobile phones while riding, and illegal parking. Although Bali recorded a 4 percent decline in accidents in 2025, police data show a steady rise over the previous years: 7,224 cases in 2023 and 8,256 in 2024, with 622 fatalities including 21 foreign nationals.
Operation Zebra Agung 2025, deployed with 1,607 personnel, runs from 17–30 November to improve discipline, prevent fatal crashes, and anticipate an influx of holiday-season tourists.
