Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government has extended full restrictions on freight vehicles using toll roads until 4 January 2026, to ensure traffic flow and public safety during the Christmas and New Year holiday period, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi announced on Sunday (21/12/2025).
Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said the policy was based on traffic evaluations showing high mobility nationwide.
“The restriction on freight vehicles on toll roads will apply continuously without time windows until 4 January 2026, to maintain optimal toll road performance during the holiday peak,” he said, as cited by antaranews.com.
The restriction applies 24 hours a day on toll roads from 19 December 2025, while non-toll roads continue to use time-based limits between 5 am and 10 pm local time. The policy covers key corridors across Sumatra, Java, and Bali, including routes linking ports, industrial zones, and residential areas.
The ministry is coordinating closely with the Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps to allow rapid, situational adjustments if traffic conditions change, while logistics operators are urged to adjust distribution schedules.
