Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Transportation Ministry ensures optimal preparation for Soekarno-Hatta International Airport service in facing the increase of people flocking to the airport ahead of Ramadan.
The Director General of Air Transportation M Kristi Endah Murni says the inspection and monitoring will be carried out in terminal 1, 2, and 3 during Ramadan holidays.
"Based on our monitoring, in general everything is safe and secure. In the drop-off area we saw there is an increase in queue due to surge in queue during peak season," said Kristi on Saturday (3/9/2024).
Kristi reported that according to the latest data, there is a bump in the number of people coming to the airport. There are 998 flights with a total passengers of 161,682.
In overcoming the surge, Kristi asked for more airport officers in the drop-off area to anticipate long queues. Moreover, most of the counter check-in will be used to store luggages.
"Passengers could check through online or at the machine that we have prepared. On the other hand, we need more officers who would help passengers in need. Hopefully it would boost our efficiency in managing the crowds," said Kristi.
Furthermore, he also checks the toilet facility as many would use it. “It is important to ensure that the toilet facility works well and maintain its cleanliness,” said Kristi.
In his closing statement, Kristi implores for all related parties to work together and continue their tight communication to ensure people are having safe flights and comfortable travel.
