Two Chinese Citizens Killed in Speedboat Sinking at Sanur Port, Bali

Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar.  Two Chinese citizens died after a speedboat, Bali Dolphin Cruise 2, sank near Sanur Port on Tuesday afternoon (5/8/2025), according to Bali Search and Rescue (Basarnas).

“The deceased, Chinese citizens, were evacuated by local residents,” said Basarnas Bali Chief I Nyoman Sidakarya, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The boat, carrying 75 passengers, sank around 3.15 pm while approaching Sanur Port from Nusa Penida. Basarnas Bali deployed eight officers and a Rigid Inflatable Boat to the scene. Local resident;s vessels and a thermal drone were also used in the search.

Authorities confirmed the deaths of Shi Guo Hong, a man,  and Hanqing Yu, a woman, both listed on the passenger manifest. Of the 75 passengers, 73 were foreigners and two were Indonesian nationals. The total aboard, including five crew, was 80.

So far, 77 have been rescued, two confirmed dead, and one Indonesian passenger, 23-year-old Kadek Adi, remains missing.
