Two Fallen Police Members Shot by KKB to be Buried in Serui

inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The bodies of two mobile brigade members who were victims of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) shooting in Mulia, Puncak Jaya Regency, were buried in Serui, Yapen Islands Regency, Papua.

Those who were members of the Damai Cartenz Task Force were released in a military ceremony in Timika, the capital of Mimika Regency, Central Papua, after being handed over to their families to be laid out in Serui.

"The evacuation to Serui used two Smart Air planes," said Head of the Damai Cartenz Public Relations Task Force, Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo, quoted by Antaranews, Saturday (5/17/2025).

From the reports received, the two victims named Dedi Tambunan and Raymon Rerey were shot by the KKB led by Ternus Enumbi in Usir Village, Mulia District, Thursday (5/15/2025) evening.

"Currently, both bodies are in Serui and are being laid out in their respective family homes," said Yusuf Sutejo.

Meanwhile, Yapen Islands Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Ardyan Ukie said that the burial of the two bodies was at the Serui Bahagia Cemetery.

However, he could not confirm when the burial would take place because he was still waiting for the arrival of the victims' families.
