inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate of Certain Criminal Acts of Indonesian National Police (INP) has uncovered a case of subsidized 3-kilogram LPG adulteration into non-subsidized LPG cylinders of various sizes in Karawang, West Java, and Semarang City, Central Java.

The Director of INP Certain Criminal Acts Directorate, Brigadier General Nunung Syaifuddin, in a press conference said that the uncovering of this case began with a public report regarding the scarcity of 3-kilogram LPG.

Nunung says he deployed his unit for investigation at an LPG base located in Telagasari District, Karawang, West Java, and an LPG warehouse in Banyumanik District, Semarang City, Central Java.

As a result, it was discovered that the two investigated locations are using a modified regulator. Then, using ice cubes so that they can transfer the gas faster and are not too hot.

After the investigation, investigators named one suspect in the case in Karawang, namely TN alias E as the capital owner as well as the injector or mixer.

Meanwhile, in the case of adulteration in Semarang City, three suspects were named, namely FZSW alias A as the owner of the base and DS and KKI as the LPG injectors.

"The mastermind or the one who gave the order is suspect FZSW alias A who is the financier," he said.

Nunung said the suspects were charged with Article 40 number 9 of Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation into Law on the amendment of the provisions of Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Natural Gas.

"With the threat of a maximum prison sentence of six years and a maximum fine of IDR 60 billion," he said.
