inp.polri.go.id - Cirebon. Cirebon Sub-regional City Police, is handling a case of alleged sexual abuse of a child under five years old by her own biological father with the initials DS (58).

Cirebon Sub-regional City Police Chief, Superintendent Eko Iskandar said that the victim had been abused for the past 2 months.

"The perpetrator has been arrested today. He is the victim's biological father and has committed the act three times. The act was carried out at home and was not known to the victim's mother," he said.

Eko revealed that police presume that the perpetrator committed the act because of problems in the household, causing DS to commit the act of abuse against his own biological child.

In addition, his party also confiscated a mobile phone containing documentation of the incident as evidence.

"The perpetrator was charged with Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection with a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAID) in Cirebon, Fifi Sofiyah said that the victim is doing fine although she still shows symptoms of trauma.

"The victim has started to improve, but still shows fear when being bathed," he said.

The victim is currently being temporarily accommodated at the Cirebon KPAID Office. The victim is undergoing a psychological assistance process.
