The Vice Chief of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sony Sonjaya, has strengthened coordination with the Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Free Nutritional Meals (MBG) Task Force and the INP Criminal Investigation Agency to oversee the handling of alleged illegal practices of buying and selling Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) points, which have reportedly occurred in several regions.
This action follows a surge in public reports claiming to be victims of fraud by parties impersonating BGN officials or claiming to be close to BGN officials, offering SPPG registration services in exchange for money.
"Today, I coordinated with the INP's MBG Task Force and also communicated with the Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency and the Director of General Crimes regarding the numerous reports in several regions, where the complainants were victims of fraud by parties claiming to be close to BGN officials, some even claiming to be BGN officials, and then offering services to register SPPG points in exchange for money," said Sony at the at INP HQ in South Jakarta on Monday (5/25/2026).
He stated that several reports have been handled by the police. One example is the West Java Regional Police, where the perpetrator has been apprehended.
Furthermore, coordination is also being carried out with police forces in Tangerang and East Lombok as information regarding alleged fraud victims rises.
According to him, coordination with the INP's MBG Task Force is being carried out to strengthen the regional police's response in receiving public reports, processing cases, and uncovering parties suspected of exploiting the MBG Program for personal gain.
"We must safeguard this program together. This is an honorable program. We must not allow its implementation in the field to be exploited by irresponsible individuals," he stressed.
Meanwhile, the Head of INP's MBG Task Force, Inspector General Nurworo Danang, emphasized their full support for law enforcement regarding alleged misuse of the MBG Program, including the practice of buying and selling SPPG points.
"The INP's MBG Task Force fully supports law enforcement against parties who abuse the MBG program to profit through deviant or unlawful means," said Nurworo Danang.
