Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) is entering what officials describe as an accelerated phase of institutional reform, driven by public pressure and internal performance reviews.
INP Deputy Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo told lawmakers that the force is strengthening its reform architecture to rebuild trust and upgrade service quality nationwide.
“We believe reform must continue indefinitely. As instructed by the INP Chief, we must never get tired of improving ourselves,” he said during a hearing with Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Tuesday (18/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
Chief Dedi revealed that the INP has formed an acceleration team to address demands from civil society groups, human rights advocates, and independent research institutions. He noted that early-2025 diagnostics allowed the force to evaluate performance gaps, with public order maintenance receiving the strongest marks, followed by law enforcement and general services.
However, challenges remain at regional levels. Chief Dedi said the INP is now tightening assessments for police chiefs and investigators to ensure stronger recruitment, training, and future leadership.
