Inp.polri.go.id - Medan.  West Java emerged on Friday (20/9/2024) as the champion of the XXI National Sports Week (PON) Aceh-North Sumatra 2024, topping the final medal standings with 195 gold, 163 silver, and 182 bronze medals. 

The victory fulfilled their slogan "West java Hattrick," as they defended their title from PON XIX in West Java 2016 and PON XX in Papua 2021.

In the top three, Jakarta won second place with 184 gold, 150 silver, and 145 bronze medals, while East Java followed closely with 146 gold, 136 silver, and 143 bronze.

North Sumatra, the host, finished fourth with 79 gold, 59 silver, and 116 bronze. Central Java claimed fifth place with 71 gold, 74 silver, and 115 bronze, while Aceh, also a host, came in sixth with 65 gold, 48 silver, and 79 bronze.

The closing ceremony was attended by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, who represented President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.
