inp.polri.go.id – The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the West Papua Police Successfully uncovered the smuggling of subsidized biodiesel and kerosene which was traded illegally in Manokwari Regency, West Papua.
The Director of Special Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Romylus Tam has explained that this case involves one of the contractors in the Manokwari area.
The evidence of six drums of bio-diesel fuel equivalent to 1.2 tons, as well as a black triton type 4-wheeled vehicle and its driver with the initials of MJ, and 3 other suspects involved have been secured for further investigation.
Police Commissioner Romylus Tam has said that the perpetrators carried out their crimes on a massive scale and structurally organized. The amount of subsidized fuel stolen in a month can reach up to 3-3.6 tons.
He explained that the perpetrators sells the subsidized fuel to one company at a price of around 1.3 million Rupiah per drum, since 2021.
The suspects are charged with the Oil and Gas Law, with maximum improsonment more than five years.
"They will also be threatened with a maximum fine above Rp 10 billion," concluded the West Papua Regional Police Intermediate Officer.
