inp.polri.go.id - The wife of the former Head of the Police Propam Division Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, Putri Candrawathi, has been named a suspect in the murder case of Brigadier J alias Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat.
Putri was made a suspect after investigators carried out an in-depth scientific examination and held an open case. Putri is charged with premeditated murder. She faces the death penalty or life imprisonment.
"PC is charged with Article 340, subsidiary 338, in conjunction with Article 55 in conjunction with Article 56 of the Criminal Code," said the Director of the General Crime of Criminal Investigation Agency of National Police, Brigadier General Andi Rian Djajadi at the National Police Headquarters, Friday 19 August 2022.
Inspector of General Supervision of the National Polcie, Commissioner General Agung Budi Maryoto, adds that the special team will also conduct an investigative audit of two police reports issued by the South Jakarta Police. The two reports are reports of sexual harassment and threats of Brigadier J submitted by Putri.
With the determination of Putri as a suspect, the police have named five suspects in the case of Brigadier J's murder. The other four suspects are Bharada E, Brigadier Ricky Rizal, Kuat Maruf and Inspector General Ferdy Sambo. In addition, the police stated that 35 of its members were suspected of violating the code of ethics in this case.
Previously, Putri made a report of sexual harassment and threats by Brigadier J to the South Jakarta Police. Putri's lawyer stated that her client was harassed and threatened by Joshua at Ferdy's official residence at the Duren Tiga Police Complex, South Jakarta.
The police had stated that this harassment made Joshua and Bharada E alias Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu involved in a shootout. Joshua, died in the incident that took place July 8, 2022.
Later, a special team formed by the National Police Chief, Police General Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., discovered the fact that Joshua was not involved in shooting, but was shot by Bharada E on the orders of Ferdy Sambo. Bharada E also stated that Ferdy shot Joshua's head two times. Lastly, the police stated that there was no sexual harassment by Brigadier J against Putri.
