Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The Yogyakarta Regional Police held on Thursday (21/12/2023) a troop ceremony for Operation Lilin Progo 2023 to secure Christmas and New Year holidays.
Operation Lilin 2023 will last for 12 days, from 22 December 2023 to 2 January 2024, and will involve joint personnel from a number of related institutions.
In his mandate, the Yogyakarta Police Chief, Inspector General Suwondo Nainggolan revealed that the year end holidays dynamic has become part of the tradition of the Indonesian people, which has implications for the increasing mobility of the community.
"Based on a survey conducted by the Ministry of Transportation, the potential for community movement this year end holidays is estimated to reach 107.63 million people, an increase of 143.65 percent compared to last year," he said.
Chief Suwondo also said that the Indonesian National Police, the Indonesian Military and all relevant stakeholders have mapped out the security, public order and traffic problems of that need to be observed. The INP Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has urged all personnel to continue to collaborate and cooperate for the success of the operation.
"I advise you to always maintain your health, make year end holidays; security a matter of pride and intend every task as a field of worship," he said.
