inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Food Agency (Bapanas), is committed to maintaining food security for the public by protecting it from chemical and biological hazards.

According to Bapanas Deputy for Consumption Diversification and Food Security, Andriko Notosusanto, to maintain food security, Bapanas has several programs, such as the Pas Aman Program (Safe Fresh Food Market).

"This has been implemented throughout Indonesia. So we hope that every traditional market will have a Food Safety Monitoring Post," he said on Monday (9/6/2025).

He explained that this Monitoring Post works to ensure food safety before it is distributed and sold to consumers. Food ingredients must be safe and not contain contaminated ingredients.

"Food ingredients must be safe from residues, pesticides, borax and formalin. Especially in traditional markets," he explained.

Furthermore, he explained that Bapanas is trying to ensure that every traditional market has the Indonesian National Standard (SNI).

This means that every traditional market is required to have a Food Safety Monitoring Post to ensure that every consumer gets safe food.

He said that this Food Safety Monitoring Post is initiated through a collaboration between Bapanas and the local government. In addition, market officers are first trained in sampling and analyzing food ingredients.

Additionally, Bapanas also asked regional agencies to be assigned to monitor the situation of traditional markets. And optimize the function of the mobile food safety laboratory.
