Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Transportation has confirmed that it has not received any permit applications or operational requests from Indonesia Airlines.
"As of today, we have not received any applications for an Air Operator Certificate or a Scheduled Commercial Air Transport License from Indonesia Airlines," said Acting Director General of Civil Aviation Lukman F. Laisa on Sunday (23/3/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
This clarification followed widespread reports about the planned launch of the airline. The ministry emphasized that no administrative documents or licensing requests have been submitted.
Under Ministerial Regulation No. 35/2021, any airline planning to operate scheduled commercial flights must complete a rigorous licensing process, including administrative and technical requirements. An Air Operator Certificate (AOC) is mandatory under Ministerial Regulation No. 33/2022 to ensure compliance with aviation safety and operational standards.
Without these certifications, an airline cannot legally operate scheduled flights in Indonesia.
