Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. Riau Islands Regional Police Chief Inspector General Asep Safrudin has confirmed that the regional police are assisting in the investigation of the stabbing of Batam Religious Court Judge Gusnahari by an unidentified assailant.
“We have instructed the Barelang Police Chief to swiftly uncover the perpetrator behind the attack on Judge Gusnahari,” he said on Friday (7/3/2025).
Chief Asep added that directives were also given to the Head of Barelang Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit to expedite the case.
Riau Islands Police are backing Barelang Police in tracking down the suspect.
“We’ve ordered the police chief and the criminal investigation head to take action, with full support from Riau Islands Police,” he emphasized, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Judge Gusnahari was attacked near his home on Thursday morning while heading to work. The assailant, wearing a helmet, stabbed his right arm before fleeing with an accomplice on a motorcycle. The motive remains unclear as authorities continue gathering witness statements.
