inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Kalimantan Regional Police Traffic Directorate received 18 new handheld mobile ETLE from the Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps for electronic traffic law enforcement.
"This handheld mobile ETLE is a tech of ETLE system that can be carried by officers in the field," said the South Kalimantan Regional Police Traffic Director, Senior Superintendent Fahri Siregar during the handover ceremony of the handheld mobile ETLE and ETLE operator training, Friday (2/27/2026).
Fahri explained the advantages of the handheld mobile ETLE, which enable the officer at the field to use the tech like a mobile phone-like device. When a traffic violation occurs, officers can capture and validate vehicle owner data and print a confirmation letter.
The South Kalimantan Regional Police Traffic Directorate hopes that personnel who also received the devices will make optimal use of the new devices.
"This certainly complements the 32 existing static ETLEs. We hope that the presence of ETLE will make the public more aware of the law and comply with traffic regulations, ultimately reducing the number of accidents and fatalities," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Sub-Directorate of Traffic Enforcement (Ditgakkum) of the INP Traffic Corps Law Enforcement Directorate (Ditgakkum), Senior Superintendent Dwi Sumrahadi Rakhmanto, added that the handheld mobile ETLE greatly assists officers in the field in prosecuting traffic violators.
It also reduces unwanted interactions between officers and members of the public who commit violations, thus creating a law enforcement system that complies with regulations.
